Role Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to support project planning and budgeting efforts. This role involves analyzing technical documents, estimating costs, and collaborating with various teams to ensure financial accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Duties

  • Conduct detailed assessments of material quantities.
  • Interpret technical schematics, especially in site development, building design, and structural frameworks.
  • Generate comprehensive financial projections for construction efforts, factoring in labor, materials, equipment, and third-party services.
  • Review technical plans and documentation to develop accurate cost breakdowns.
  • Work closely with design and management teams to align on budget expectations.
  • Track financial performance and flag any discrepancies or budget risks.
  • Evaluate potential risks and propose strategies to manage unexpected costs.
  • Stay informed on construction innovations, pricing trends, and industry standards.
  • Assist with bid preparation and review proposals from external vendors.
  • Participate in cost optimization reviews for selected developments.
  • Assess proposed changes to determine their financial impact.
  • Monitor local market trends to inform competitive pricing strategies.
  • Reach out to suppliers and contractors to confirm pricing and scope alignment.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in construction, engineering, or a related discipline - or 5+ years of hands-on estimating experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience preparing and managing budgets for mid- to large-scale projects.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Solid grasp of project budgeting principles, including scope and risk management.
  • Familiarity with regional building standards and cost classification systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Experience with cost estimation platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Sage) and Excel.
  • Comfortable using digital tools to support budgeting and planning.

Personal Attributes:

  • Effective communicator with strong collaboration skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
