We're looking for a Data Engineer to join a growing data team supporting a large-scale data transformation programme. This contract role will focus on building and optimising data pipelines, improving data quality and governance, and helping migrate operational data onto a modern enterprise data platform.
The Role
You will:
- Build and optimise ETL/data pipelines across multiple data sources
- Improve data processes, governance and data quality
- Work with large, complex datasets to support business priorities
- Develop solutions using the Azure data stack
- Support the migration of operational data from legacy SQL environments to a strategic insights platform
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions
Essential Skills
- Strong SQL experience
- Python development experience
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure cloud platform experience
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines
Desirable Skills
- R programming experience
- Azure Synapse
- ADLS
- REST APIs
- Power BI
- Data warehousing and dimensional modelling
About You
- 3-8+ years' experience in Data Engineering
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms and engineering best practices
- Comfortable working across data integration, transformation and optimisation initiatives
- Able to quickly get up to speed and add value within an established team
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable data solutions
