Dunstable, Luton (onsite, 5 days a week) | Permanent | £40,000 - £42,500

A multi-academy trust in the education sector is looking for an IT Team Leader who's as comfortable fixing a jammed printer as they are planning the next hardware refresh - someone who leads by getting stuck in, not by staying behind a ticket queue.

This role sits at the centre of IT support across two schools, covering everything from day-to-day 2nd/3rd line support for staff and students through to longer-term planning around hardware, software and infrastructure. You'll be hands-on with Apple and Windows environments, networking, AV kit and backups, while also line managing an IT Media Technician and acting as the go-to person when issues need escalating or a decision needs making on the spot. It's a role that mixes technical depth with genuine ownership - you'll be trusted to prioritise the department's workload, feed into short and long-term IT plans, and represent the IT team within the school.

You'll work closely with the IT Operations Manager and the Trust's IT and Media teams, as well as liaising directly with Department Heads and school leadership when urgent or complex issues come up.

What they're looking for:

• Solid technical grounding: Windows 10, Server 2016+, Hyper-V 2019, Active Directory, Group Policy
• Comfortable supporting Apple hardware - iMacs, iPads, iOS devices
• Advanced networking knowledge - patching, cable management, VLANs, switching
• PC hardware troubleshooting and AV support (projectors, speakers, screens)
• A genuine team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight timescales
• Confident working independently, using initiative without close supervision
• A good customer-facing manner - this is a people-facing IT role, not just a back-office one
• Desirable: Veeam Backup, SCCM, SIMS.net (or similar education MIS), PaperCut, Office 365, driving licence for cross-site travel
