Project Manager - Bioinformatics platform delivery

Remote with occassional travel to bracknell

We are supporting a leading organisation operating at the intersection of science, technology, and data, seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a complex bioinformatics platform programme. This role will coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and third-party partners to ensure successful delivery against strategic objectives. Experience within Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or a closely related scientific domain is essential.

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible role within a large-scale technology initiative, requiring a Project Manager who can combine strong delivery expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You will be responsible for driving programme coordination, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring alignment across technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of a complex bioinformatics platform programme.
• Coordinate multiple project workstreams across internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
• Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and critical deliverables.
• Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to drive alignment and decision-making.
• Build strong relationships with technical, scientific, and business stakeholders.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Support governance processes, programme reporting, budget tracking, and contract management activities.
• Establish and promote effective project delivery standards, processes, and best practices.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex technology programmes.
• Strong track record of managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Essential domain experience within Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Research environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, and Mural.
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing project risks, budgets, and third-party suppliers.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and IT infrastructure.
• Exceptional communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience delivering bioinformatics, genomics, scientific data, research, or laboratory technology platforms.
• Exposure to highly regulated environments and data-intensive programmes.
