Finance Business Analyst (Contract)

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week)
Rate: £450 per day (flexible)
Contract: 6 months initially, full-time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Analyst to join a leading organisation on a 6-month contract. This role focuses on supporting finance and accounting processes, driving business change, and delivering technology-enabled solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with finance teams, strong knowledge of financial operations and accounting procedures, and exposure to compliance frameworks such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). This is not a generic Financial Services BA role - we are looking for someone with practical corporate finance experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to define and deliver finance-related business solutions.

• Shape and document business requirements within agile or waterfall frameworks.

• Facilitate workshops to analyse processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.

• Develop functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Support project delivery, including business cases, work plans, and stakeholder communication.

• Promote innovation and align technology solutions with business capabilities.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within finance or accounting environments.

• Strong understanding of financial processes and systems; SOX compliance experience highly desirable.

• Ability to manage stakeholders, build consensus, and communicate effectively.

• Skilled in requirements gathering, process mapping, and change management.

• Familiarity with both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
