Job Purpose:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Intercompany Accountant to lead the reconciliation and resolution of historical intercompany balances and design a scalable framework for future intercompany transactions. This role is critical to ensuring financial integrity across our global entities and will involve collaboration with regional finance teams, auditors, and systems stakeholders.

Core responsibilities

• Prepare, create, and post journals and submit for approval;
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data, ensuring transactions are recorded appropriately;
• Maintain organised and up-to-date records of reconciliation activities, including supporting documentation and evidence;
• Managing a complex, multiple stakeholder project which clear governance and milestones;
• Collaborating with other functions in order to drive the project forward;
• Knowledge in a variety of ad-hoc technical accounting issues; preparing technical accounting work papers; preparing these for audit and presenting these to management;
• Understand the nature and complexity of re-charging in a large, complex, multi-location Group;
• Understand how Intercompany should work in a large and complex Group, as well as an understanding of what good looks like;
• Support all internal and external audit activities through the provision of required documentation, attendance of necessary meetings and being a key liaison officer to the external auditors.
• Understand financial processes and control frameworks, with experience of building and/or fixing an end-to-end process;
• Experience of different accounting systems and working with multiple data sets.
• Works proactively and can work both independently and in a team.
• Working with FP&A and Financial Reporting teams to ensure that business unit management recharges are correctly mapped across group legal entities and recorded through statutory intercompany accounts;
• Working with group functions including Group Tax to ensure that charges via intercompany are supported by valid invoicing and therefore compliant with local tax requirements;
• Working alongside Group Tax and Legal to provide input to the preparation and drafting of updated agreements to support the intercompany recharge process;
• Supporting Group Tax and the oracle ERP teams to ensure the reporting of intercompany transactions are compliant from an indirect tax perspective;
• Working with Group Treasury to ensure that all intercompany balances are cash settled on a timely basis;

Educational /Occupational/Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with at least 5 years PQE
• Experience of working in complex, global organisations with specific experience of intercompany arrangements, processes and controls
• Experience of delivering large projects working across a number of stakeholders

Skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to solve complex accounting issues
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to manage across a range of different stakeholders at different levels
• Ability to setup, manage and lead a cross-locational team
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools and software (e.g. Excel, ERP systems).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
